  1. As the war raged on, Churchill was known for working 20 hours a day and demanding every minute detail of troops, supplies, movements, etc. from the large group of officers that surrounded him.

At other times, he would say that his “black dog” had come to visit (how he referred to his bouts of depression), and he’d be almost incapable of basic functioning or getting out of bed or visiting with anyone.

With America’s help, Churchill beat the German war machine in World War II, while simultaneously waging a personal battle with depression. He also proved that people who are struggling with depression in their own lives are not failures. But like Churchill, they have but one more obstacle to overcome on their journey toward victory. Live can be an amazing and wonderful thing if only you give it a chance.

Have something to say? Say it! But please be polite. ;-)
